About the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card

The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card is a mandatory digital document for foreign travelers who wish to visit the country, no matter the travel purpose or intended duration of stay. It is obligatory for most passengers arriving in Malaysia, whether by air, land, or sea.

You get your Malaysia Digital Arrival Card through an online application system. It was introduced to simplify the entry process to the country.

To complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card registration, you must provide some basic personal details and passport data.

You also need to fill out travel information, including transportation data and details of your accommodation in Malaysia.

Eligible Nationalities

All foreign citizens need to complete a Malaysia Digital Arrival Card. Only permanent residents of Malaysia, citizens of Singapore, and the following are exempt:

  • Diplomatic and Official passport holders
  • Holders of a Brunei-Malaysia Frequent Traveller Facility
  • Holders of a Brunei Common Certificate of Identification (GCI)
  • Holders of an Indonesian Cross Border Pass (PLB)
  • Holders of a Thailand Border Pass

Documentation requirements for Malaysia Digital Arrival Card

You need to provide personal details, passport data, and travel information. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.

You also need to have already made flight/ship bookings and accommodation arrangements for your trip.

This is because you need to provide information such as the flight/vessel/transport number, intended arrival/exit dates, and your accommodation address on the form.

Once the applicant has submitted the online application, all notifications and updates will be sent by email.

The processing time is within 1 day, however, some applications may take longer to process, up to 2 days.

Online Application for the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card

To apply online, you must have a valid passport, email address, and a credit or debit card.

All the information provided on the application form, such as first and last names, country of citizenship, date of birth, sex, and passport number and issue/expiry dates, must be exactly as they appear on your passport.

You also need to provide details about your trip on the online form, including:

  • Port of embarkation
  • Type of transport
  • Flight/vessel/transportation number
  • Intended date of entry/exit
  • Full address of accommodation in Malaysia
